Huw and Sarah Murphy MS visit Bridgend-based publishers Seren on their 40th Anniversary and to celebrate local author, Phil Cope’s new publication ‘The Golden Valley: a visual biography of the Garw’.
Following the visit Huw said:
I really enjoyed my visit with Sarah to the Bridgend-based publishers Seren, to mark their 40th Anniversary.
Wales-based, independent publishers like Seren are precious, as they find and produce and encourage talent from authors and our culture in Wales (who would often struggle to be championed in the major high street stores or on-line) and bring those authors to international audiences too – often garnering literary awards as they go.
So if you’re looking for special gift for someone, or an early Christmas present, look up Seren’s catalogue.
I came away a little bit lighter in my wallet but with a smile too, having picked up Hamid Rind’s “Four Dervishes” which has received glowing revues, and also a signed copy (thank you Phil) of the wonderful “Golden Valley”, Phil Cope’s pictorial biography of the Garw valley. If you know and love the Garw, check it out and get it for yourself or your loved ones.
